Working for people's power and involvement

For the second year in a row, People's Advocacy participates in designing and facilitating Leadership for Social Justice Institutes (LSJ-12) of the International Fellowship Program (IFP) of the Ford Foundation.

Nader Tadros of People's Advocacy joined a team of experts organized by the School of International Training (SIT),  that designed and facilitate this one-week Leadership for Social Justice Institute.

In a wonderfully rich program, the Leadership for Social Justice (LSJ) Institute of the International Fellowship Program took place in the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, USA; June 18-23, 2006.  The program was incredibly rich as it brought 153 international Fellows, representing 19 countries and speaking countless languages.  The facilitation team was about 35 men and women.  In spite of the large number of participants, the program design was a balanced mix of plenary and small group work. Each Fellow joined one of seven Thematic Groups, which also functioned like home groups.

Taking advantage of having the program done in Washington, DC, the program provided the Fellows with several chances to connect with international civil society groups, in addition to powerful organizations that shape and influence global policies including the World Bank, the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Agency for International Development, World Health Organization, and others.
