In the capacity of an independent consultant Nader Tadros, People's Advocacy director, worked with Management Systems International (MSI) and World Learning, to provide a five-day Advocacy Concepts and Practices workshop in Sinaia, Romania; May 2-6, 2006.  Twenty participants representing 18 Romanian civil society organizations participated in this highly interactive workshop.  The focus of this training is to support Romanian NGOs that have applied for grants of the Romanian Civil Society Strengthening Program to strengthen/develop their advocacy capabilities.  The program included establishing a conceptual framework, utilize advocacy strategic planning tools to craft appropriate advocacy strategies, and gain/strengthen commonly advocacy skills including constituency and coalition building, lobbying, and media advocacy.  People’s Advocacy contributed its Advocacy Concepts and Practices Manual to be used as the training resource for this workshop.
