Training Technical Assistance Network and Coalition Building Distant/On Line Support

You are here: Home > Programs > Training

The training programs we design and implement can be classified under two major themes:

1- Training Programs on Advocacy Concepts and Practices for groups that want to gain the capacity to organize and conduct advocacy campaigns. While these programs are very much field oriented, they furnish a strong conceptual framework foundation that enable the participants to make educated decisions about their advocacy and social justice work.

2- Preparation of Advocacy Resource Persons Activities (PARP).  In the PARP program, participants acquire the skills needed to support other groups to include advocacy in their programs.  Being resource persons, their services go beyond providing advocacy training for others, to providing technical support in analyzing the internal and external environment regarding an issue, designing and implementing advocacy campaigns, and helping organizations to restructure to best function as advocacy organizations.

These training events are either organized for one group, or for groups of people who care for similar issues,  or even for groups of people with diverse issues. such as the training program for the Citizenship and Voter Training School (CIVITAS) team of Illinois, USA.

Size of the group is another variable in the training programs in which People's Advocacy has been involved.   For instance, the training program that People's Advocacy has co-facilitated for CIVITAS team in Illinois - Citizenship and Voter Training School- had about ten participants.   In another instance, People's Advocacy has been involved with Ford Foundation in organizing one week meetings (called Leadership for Social Justice Institutes- LSJ ) each for up to 170 Fellows from about 20 countries.

Each of these training events that People's Advocacy provides is tailored to the specific needs of each group, and is highly interactive.
